Version 1.6.2.0 18 September 2026 Latest Tool 54
Two weeks after we wrote that the catalogue was closed at fifty-three, this release carries a fifty-fourth, and the notes open with why that is not a change of mind: ErgoCulture was already built and held back, the requests for it arrived, so it is released. It is a safety culture maturity assessment for the people who answer to a board or a regulator: eleven dimensions, five levels, a floor rule, and a rating without evidence behind it is stored but never counted. It ships as a Preview. The dossier programme read nine more methods back against their sources, the HSE manual handling trio, the NIOSH lifting equation, micro-FMEA, HEART, THERP and SLIM, with every finding built or declared, and it produced its first software assurance documents, which turn the same discipline on the platform around the methods. ErgoSphere Viewer gains an installer, a file type, its licence and privacy documents, a first-run gate, and twelve tools whose findings pages render as the application draws them. The HTA can be played, with timed steps, lanes by performer and a live observation walk. ErgoDesign answers a thirteen-item list from an experienced user: three selectable figures, individual finger control, a figure that stops at its own surfaces, and measurements that stay.

The most consequential release so far, and almost none of it is a new feature. The method set is closed at fifty-three tools, and the engineering effort moves to proving what is already there: the dossier programme reads every method back against the paper or standard it comes from, line by line, with every departure written down and every correction built. Nine methods were re-read this cycle. Most of what the reading found was agreement between the tool and its source; where it found a departure, the departure was closed. HE-HAZOP gained the two published steps it had nowhere to record, SART's two in-project surfaces were reconciled onto a single figure, an unanswered ATWIT prompt became a recorded choice, social network analysis names key agents on centrality as well as status, ErgoRadar takes criteria per key performance area and a combined conclusion per cycle, and a compliance register with nothing applicable in it now reads as unscored rather than as zero per cent. All of it was found by our own reading rather than in the field. Bug fixes and user requests keep their place at the front of the queue. ErgoSphere Viewer entered its final stage before public release and is with a small invited test group: every one of the fifty-three tools draws its own findings board inside the deliverable, the navigation was rebuilt around the three questions a recipient actually arrives with, a printed figure on the report sheet opens live where it sits, and the HTA arrives as a tree you can search, click and interrogate. ErgoGlare completes its move onto the shared editor shell across twenty-six work packages, indoors and out, and ErgoDesign gains an animation timeline, an X-ray view of the figure through the workstation, and dimensions that live in the scene rather than on one pane's overlay.

Where 1.5 was about the methods, 1.6 is about the deliverable. ErgoSphere Viewer ships as a free companion application: it opens the sealed .ergview package, shows the issued report page for page with the Word document inside it, renders every graph-based diagram live, and presents a tool's own figures on a Results surface instead of flattening them onto A4. Then it closes the loop, letting a recipient highlight a passage and comment on it the way they would in Word, save a new file and send it back, while the issued deliverable stays byte identical forever. A new fourth module, Deliverables, is where reports are marked ready, composed, issued with a manifest, superseded, reissued and reviewed. The HF Programme stream lands the assurance document set a client actually contracts for, including a first-class HF Analysis Report with simultaneously valid audience variants, an HF User Requirements Register, and the bound figure token that makes a number quoted in prose a reference to the analysis rather than a typed digit. ErgoDelta arrives to count what actually changes between two states of a system. ErgoDesign gains a posable manikin, contact highlighting and a first-person Eye View with a MIL-STD-1472H visual field overlay; ErgoSense can import an Xsens .mvn recording, so motion capture no longer has to be live; and the registers scale to thousands of rows and gain a Role Register with task allocation and DIF analysis.

The largest single expansion of the method set to date: nine tools take the platform from 43 to 52. FRAM, SNA and EAST open a new Systems shelf on Method Tools, EAST composing task, social and information networks of one scenario over a single shared entity model. CDM brings the Critical Decision Method interview to a native interactive timeline, GDTA and SAGAT arrive as a situation-awareness pair, SWAT completes the workload shelf, and HE-HAZOP puts a configurable team-run guideword walkthrough beside SHERPA. A rebuilt ErgoCompass helps you choose the right method, assures the foundations were not skipped, and writes a defensible justification straight into the HF Integration Plan. Sharing the headline, ErgoBow stops being a bowtie editor and becomes a critical control management platform: a governed control library with structured performance standards, applicability and deployment across a configurable context hierarchy, multi-level assurance planning over an evidence registry, dependency and common-mode analysis that ends the false defence-in-depth claim, an accountable route from a failed control through temporary controls to restoration, and portfolio views that aggregate without losing the thread back to the evidence. Underneath, the catalogue is reorganised under a naming rule that is now written down, and the assurance layer takes a decisive step: a saved project can prove it has not been altered, there is one governance chain instead of two, and a single mutation gate stands at every save seam. The report preview finally matches the Word document it previews, across roughly forty tools.

The largest release since launch, led by ErgoACT - a cognitive task modeller on a real ACT-R architecture that simulates task duration, mental bottlenecks and first-principles human error exposure. Six more tools arrive, taking the platform to 43: SLIM and TRACEr on the reliability shelf, ErgoNeuro for EEG workload, ErgoEvac as a working evacuation simulator with EN 1838 signage modelling, ErgoCompass for AI-based automation across ten key performance areas, and ErgoAIR for operator-led alarm requirements. Every ErgoTool gains a guided tour, and Help becomes a ribbon. ErgoSense drives its own live 3D preview and computes biomechanics in-process, so Xsens capture no longer needs an external engine - repairing live RULA and REBA scoring in the process - while ErgoLens has its shoulder measurement rebuilt, correcting RULA and REBA scores that were wrong on every 2D assessment. ErgoDesign completes its move onto the AB4D engine with true orthographic views and a working measure tool, ErgoGlare gains indoor furniture that genuinely occludes and reflects light, imported from an ErgoDesign layout, eleven ErgoTools gain a full Word report, and one shell, one ribbon and one icon family now reach all thirty method editors under a new two-row header.

Method-fidelity and quality release centred on SHERPA. The worksheet is realigned to the published method: the canonical Figure 6.1 error taxonomy, a full eight-step analysis with error description, written consequence and four remedy categories, ordinal Low / Medium / High criticality, a merged error-mode picker with a reference window, plus HTA import and grouping tabs. Large SHERPA sessions and project opens are now fast (a virtualised worksheet and off-thread load behind a busy indicator), saved projects leave only the project file behind, and cross-project data isolation and internal data serialisation are hardened further.

Refinement release centred on Safety-Critical Task Analysis. Following a detailed practitioner review, SCTA gains a faster Task Analysis editor (sibling and sub-step insertion, sticky toolbar), customisable grouping tabs for large studies, recalibrated criticality bands, MAH / Site / Task session context, and multi-select error classification. Also: in-app licence management, theme and button contrast fixes across Classic, Harry and Charlie, and hardened cross-project data isolation. Plus an early look at the groundwork for AI-assisted support now underway.
